As I was researching signage for a project I am doing I came across this interesting sign. Its so interesting that its a huge black water drop which immediately caught my attention and it says "water jet room" that makes sense relating it to water. It wouldn't make sense if it said "buffet" he he. There is something about it that I really like, I guess it reminds me of Willy Wonka.

A very interesting approach to advertising food in these two different campaigns through you think language and sex. The Campaign with the chicken and the fish are compelling to eye because the visual displays a more sexier food and taste because of  the mustard. Besides those two foods are generally not sexy so its unusual. The second campaign is successful because of how the headline is so in your face provocative, that uses a comparison of sex to how good your food is going to be.

60's ads

I love the Ads from the 60's they are so bright and fun loving. There full of life and excitement through there choice of bright colors and design. The ad at the top is from 1969 about creme for woman. This ad executes several working elements. The analogous colors, use of round shapes, and a central focus on a pretty girl. The bottom two are great becuase they have fun illustrations with a interesting headlines.

I know it came out awhile ago but it had the most advirtisements and branding I have ever seen for a movie in my era. Since they teamed up with 7/11 to make there quickie mart a realty it had to be the most brilliant idea ever!! Thanks to 7-11 they were able to bank on so many branding opportunities from the famous pink donought, Duff beer, cookies, everything you can think of that the show can market they slaped there face on it!! I personaly think the markting was better than the actual movie. Movie was a bit of a let down. It was funny cause through there marketing they hyped it up so big and when the movie came out it did so so.

simple yet pretty

Part of design that I love so much are illustrations. I like how these are so simple yet effective in colors that make them so playful. These illustrations are a play on positive and negitive space to communicate a beautiful animal or backround piece. If I could choose a favorite it would be the whale becuase you never see birds pulling a whale out of the water and they look so cute. The choice in colors really works well and stands out amoung the rest.

As I was looking for funny ads I came across this one for a matchmaking website. The concept is just genius you don't like your current mate find a new one!! Its so wrong but it really is funny! When you first look at it you think oh its an ad to improve ones self, but then you see the girl or guy with just a new better looking person. I like like how they have there body language as bored or sad with the first mates and then all happy in the next kind of reminds me of a viagra ad. hehe

Feeling sexy?

Thats how I saw it when I first saw this advirtisement for Heineken. What I love is how it clearly sends the message of relaxing and sexy sweat of a cold beer out in the open. They did a good job adding little arms to the bottle to demonstrate a real life presence. It simply is just funny.
